2011 about to wrap up

As the last few days of 2011 roll by I've taken a little bit of time to look back one last time. This has been quite an interesting year. Nothing major has happened this year (unlike 2009 which was the year of the "destroyed arm" and 2010 which opened well into physical therapy), and that's pretty much a good thing. One blessing that came up unexpectedly was becoming the "interim" worship leader at our church, which we're hoping will turn into a full position in 2012. Both Priscilla and I have grown spiritually and our relationship has become much stronger as a benefit from that.

God has shown Himself in many ways through this year. Our CIA class has continued to move along well. We've had a couple of additions this year and we're very happy about that, and we look forward to continuing to serve and minister where God leads us in 2012.

Christmas Day being on a Sunday this year was a blast to worship with our local church and celebrate the birth of Jesus with our congregation. The rest of the day was spent at home with family and friends who are close enough that we don't call them friends anymore, they're just more members of our family.

Our "Rail and Sprue" Tuscarora Lumber Co. local #1 group saw a few members added this year. We've really enjoyed spending time with those folks and look forward to that in 2012 as well. I started putting together a small HCD (Hollow Core Door) N scale railroad layout, and it's coming along nicely but awful slowly.

So 2011 will end in five days, and we'll usher in 2012 and look forward to the blessings and challenges that God puts before us. I can't wait to see how 2012 ends up.
